This Johannesburg hospital nurse was photographed while checking the vital signs of an isolated hospital staff member after patients with Marburg virus infections were treated there in 1975. Nursing staff, and attending resident doctors and interns were put under surveillance for fevers four times per day, and isolated after case #2, who traveled through Rhodesia with case #1, later showed symptoms of the suspected disease after coming into close contact with hospital staff members. This image was created in 1975 and provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/Dr. J. Lyle Conrad. [0004-0702-2123-1422] by 0004
