This is a micrograph of a mediastinal lymph node from a cynomolgus monkey, Macaca fascicularis with inhalation anthrax. This case of anthrax was as a result of the monkey’s exposure to a naturally occurring aerosol of Bacillus Anthracis in a goat-hair processing plant. The photomicrograph reveals severe hemorrhagic necrosis using Giemsa stain; Magnification 20X. This image was created in 1971 and provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/Dr. Ken Roberts. [0003-0702-0123-2406] by 0003
