Description This 1968 photograph depicted former CDC Director, William H. Foege, M.D., M.P.H., and Anne Voigt in a refugee camp office that had been set up during the Nigerian-Biafran war. In 1967, the CDC was asked to assist the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in its disease control and death prevention efforts at numerous relief camps outside of the Nigerian-Biafran war zone. This image was provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
