Description This photo shows a Red Cross truck fueling up before distributing food to the refugee relief camps during the Nigerian-Biafran war. The CDC was asked in 1967 to assist the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in disease control and death prevention during the Nigerian-Biafran war. A large number of relief camps were established for nutrition assessment and feeding operations for the local villagers around the war zone. This image was provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
