Photo of two health officials were walking through a Beitbridge, Rhodesian campground during the Marburg investigation of 1975. Johnson and M. Isaacson, shown in the shadows of the Mopani trees, were investigating the site during the Marburg outbreak. Mopani worms, which were found in these trees, were among the specimens that were examined due to the close proximity that they had to the two travelers, who became Marburg cases #1, and #2. However, no viruses were ever detected in the Mopani worms. This image was created in 1975 and provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. [0004-0703-0821-1567] by 0004
