This view overlooks a Wankie, Rhodesian, now Zimbabwe, colliery where a small hospital and outpatient clinics are located. As part of the CDC’s 1975 Marburg outbreak investigation, records of nearby clinics were examined for 3 years looking for severe hepatitis-like illness cases, clusters of undiagnosed deaths, fevers of unknown origin (FUOs), etc. Nothing was found. This image was created in 1975 and provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/Dr. J. Lyle Conrad. [0004-0702-2220-3329] by 0004
