Free Picture: Nigerian Children Getting Vaccinated for Measles and Smallpox During the Biafran War
|
Description Stock Photo of Nigerian children are shown here getting vaccinated for measles and smallpox as part of CDC’s relief effort during the Biafran war. Because many of these children are malnourished, death rates are very high if afflicted with measles or smallpox. A large number of these relief camps were established for nutrition assessment and feeding operations for the local villagers around the war zone. Vaccination programs were also established in high-risk camps. This image was provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
