Generalized vaccinia is a widespread rash, ranging in severity from moderate to serious that involves sores on parts of the body away from the vaccination site resulting from vaccinia virus traveling through the blood stream.

This image was created in 08/2003 and provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/Allen W. Mathies, MD/ California Emergency Preparedness Office (Calif/EPO), Immunization Branch.
